A three in one cleaning, packing-unpacking and home layout design business is the brainchild of Napier woman Sonya Blackwell.

The former legal secretary has run her own venture, redefine Home Presentation (redefine clean) for 20 years. After completing a small business course through the Napier City Council, and an interior design course at the Eastern Institute of Technology she launched redefine clean.


While cleaning is the “bread and butter” of the business, the other two services offered are just as important. The home presentation is about consulting and advising home owners intent on selling their homes about the best way to arrange furnishings to make it more attractive for potential buyers. People looking for a fresh look may also be interested.

The idea of offering a packing-unpacking service was an inevitable step, redefine works on an hourly basis working under direction of the client for as long as they are needed. We know from experience there is truth to the saying “many hands make light work.” The unpacking service we offer relieves the stress enabling families and individuals to relax in their new home at the end of the day with the clothes hung in wardrobes, linen put away, china in cabinets and kitchen and bathrooms sorted, all that is needed now is dinner and a glass of wine.
